CONCENTRATIONS

> Offered in three concentrations for gradual skin adaptation and tailored professional protocols:

• 0.1% Starter (Retinal 0.05 + HPR 0.05) : Gentle entry-level concentration, ideal for first-time users or skin prone to sensitivity. Recommended for early signs of aging, fine lines, mild photoaging, and initial uneven tone.

• 0.14% Moderate (Retinal 0.07 + HPR 0.07) : Intermediate concentration for skin with visible lines, initial loss of firmness, uneven tone, or sun-induced discoloration. Helps improve smoothness, radiance, and firmness.

• 0.2% Advanced (Retinal 0.1 + HPR 0.1) : High-performance concentration designed for advanced signs of aging such as pronounced wrinkles, loss of elasticity, and uneven pigmentation. Ideal for mature or demanding skin in need of visible renewal and firmness support.

* The 3 concentrations allow for a personalized approach: either through progressive increase (Step-Up Program) for safe skin adaptation, or with a targeted selection depending on the intensity of photoaging and skin tolerance.

 

> The three concentrations offer two flexible approaches:

• Progressive Increase (Step-Up Program): Begin with a lower concentration and gradually move to higher strengths to allow safe adaptation and optimal skin tolerance (recommended for new users).

• Targeted Selection: Choose the appropriate concentration directly, based on photoaging grade, wrinkle depth, pigmentation, and individual skin tolerance.

 

 

USE & APPLICATION FREQUENCY

• First-time users: Apply 2–3 times per week, allowing the skin to adapt. Gradually increase to every other night, then nightly, according to tolerance.

• Night use only: Apply on clean, dry skin.

• Use a pea-sized amount for the face and/or neck, avoiding the eyes, eyelids, and lips. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

• Wash hands after application.

• Follow with a suitable moisturizer or soothing product (cream, serum, or mask) to enhance comfort.

• Morning: Always use broad-spectrum SPF 30–50+ during and for one week after use.

• Layering: For sensitive skin, apply moisturizer before and after the product (e.g., moisturizer – RetinAX – moisturizer) to reduce potential irritation.

 

MANAGING IRRITATION

• If mild redness, dryness, or flaking occurs (a common response to retinoids), pause use for 3–4 days and apply Yellow Rose Dermaceuticals moisturizing or soothing products.

• Once the skin calms:

- Continue with a lower concentration, or
- Maintain the same level, applying every other night until tolerance improves.

• If persistent irritation occurs, discontinue use.

 

CRITERIA FOR CONCENTRATION UPGRADE

• Skin tolerates current level with nightly use for ≥4–8 weeks.

• Minimal or no persistent redness or flaking.

• Consistent daily SPF protection.

• No recent intensive resurfacing or rejuvenation procedures.

 

STEP-UP PROGRAM

• 0.1% Starter: 2–3 nights/week > every other night > nightly as tolerated.

• 0.14% Intermediate: Start after ≥4 weeks of tolerance at 0.1%; begin every other night > nightly.

• 0.2% Advanced: For experienced users only, after full tolerance at 0.14%; start every other night > nightly.

 

 

• Always combine with SPF 30–50 and hydrating products.

 

 

IN-CLINIC / PROFESSIONAL PROTOCOL

• Concentration selected by the dermatologist or skincare professional according to skin needs and tolerance.

• Reassessment every 2 weeks to adjust concentration or frequency.

• May be combined with non-invasive anti-aging or photoaging protocols that do not cause temporary sensitivity or micro-injury.

• Not applied immediately after invasive or resurfacing procedures (e.g. laser, peels, dermabrasion, microneedling) — allow 7–10 days before and 14 days after, or until full skin recovery.

• Each session should end with the application of hydrating and soothing products and SPF protection during the day.

 

PRECAUTIONS

• For external use on healthy skin only. Do not apply on damaged, irritated, or highly sensitive skin, or immediately after intense sun exposure.

• Avoid using simultaneously with other potentially irritating products (e.g., strong AHAs/BHAs, scrubs) on the same day.

• Avoid exposure to extreme temperatures (hot baths, sauna, cold wind) that may worsen dryness or irritation.

• Do not use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

• In case of intense or persistent irritation, discontinue use.

 

Storage: Keep tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight. Keep out of reach of children.

• Retinal (Retinaldehyde): A direct precursor of Retinoic acid, approximately ten times more potent than Retinol, as it requires only one metabolic conversion step to become active. Promotes Collagen synthesis, normalizes keratinization, and accelerates cell renewal for faster, visible results and a smoother skin texture.

• HPR (Hydroxypinacolone Retinoate): A next-generation ester of Retinoic acid that binds directly to retinoid receptors (unlike retinol), offering a fast, stable, and effective anti-aging action with significantly lower irritation.
